[I]n its total inspirational sweep, it earns comparison to the movement it chronicles -- as an organized, well-calculated piece of political theater. -- Grade: B

Brilliantly played and at times very funny, Pride proves that people make history, even if they do so in ways they initially don't understand.

4 stars out of 5 -- A clear winner that makes you laugh, cry, and generally want to party and parade like it’s 1984.

4 stars out of 5 -- That such emotional grace notes are sounded by a director with only one feature film credit to his name makes PRIDE’s accomplishments all the more remarkable.

Product Description:
Inspired by actual events, director Matthew Warchus' PRIDE details the unlikely friendship forged between a small community of striking miners in Wales and the London-based gay-and-lesbian activists who raise funds to feed their families in the summer of 1984. With no end to the strike in sight, the urban activists venture into the countryside to deliver their donation in person, and find they have more in common with the people of this struggling community than anyone on either side could have expected. Bill Nighy, Imelda Staunton, Dominic West, and Paddy Considine star.
