3 stars out of 4 -- Steve Carell and Tina Fey play a nice, unassuming couple in DATE NIGHT, and that's one of the reasons the movie works so well.

3 stars out of 5 -- Carell and co keep mining shards of comic brilliance and, even more unlikely, some disarming glints of emotion.

Whenever the dialogue takes over, and we watch Fey and Carell click as romantic duo, it's tempting to imagine these TV stars as a big screen couple with a future-they deserve a better movie than Date Night. Full Review

3.5 stars out of 4 -- [A]n absurd and wildly amusing night to remember. This is the rare screwball comedy that is superbly paced, cleverly plotted and hilarious from start to finish.

Rating: 4/4 -- Date Night is a fun, romp in New York City that explores issues of everyday life while adding some romance and openness about marriage. Full Review

Rating: 3/5 -- Okay, this is only a farcical fable, but with another director it might have been a little more than that.

Product Description:

This action comedy tells the tale of mild-mannered married couple Phil (Steve Carell) and Claire (Tina Fey), who fear their relationship may be falling into a stale rut. During their weekly date night, they impetuously steal a dinner reservation, which leads to a case of mistaken identity. Turns out the reservation was for a pair of thieves, and now a number of unsavory characters want Phil and Claire killed. If they can survive a wacky life-threatening night, they may just rediscover the passion missing from their marriage. Directed by Shawn Levy, the film co-stars Mark Wahlberg, James Franco, and Kristen Wiig.
