Product Description:
A string of hit singles and an equally successful TV show cemented a place in the history books for musical duo the Captain & Tennille. This nine-hour extravaganza offers plenty of highlights from the Captain (AKA Daryl Dragon) & Tennille's variety show, which combined lighthearted, family-oriented fun with appearances from various musical stars of the era. A perfect time capsule from the 1970s, the show embraces the hippy movement and disco, while also inviting timeless stars such as Dionne Warwick and B.B. King onto the show. Pop culture icons such as the cast of CHARLIE'S ANGELS and HAPPY DAYS, John Travolta in all his SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER glory, and the Sweathogs from WELCOME BACK KOTTER all appear, while the Captain & Tennille open up their songbook and deliver some gently melodic pop as the show progresses.

The Captain and Tennille's timeless variety show
Movie Lover: Bradford Paulson from

The Captain and Tennille every week brought us alot of great fun with their short lived variety show. They had great comedy sketches such as the Bionic Watermellon and of course the timeless Masterjoke Theater where the guest that night who was playing Allistair Banister would take a pie and hit himself in the face with it at the end of the sketch. The Captain always had his classic Hat Jokes every show. It was a fun show and I enjoyed watching it until it got canceled after just one season.
