Description by OLDIES.com:
Jimmy Burke is a reporter looking for the big story that will catapult him into fame and allow him to marry his girlfriend, Patricia, a sexy young actress. When he discovers that a notorious gangster, "Sleek Moran", is buying his way into a Hollywood studio, the resulting story leads to a promotion for the eager young reporter. Flush with success, he inadvertently falls into the arms of his boss' daughter, leaving Patricia to become prey to the vengeful Moran. Realizing his love for Patricia, Jimmy must now save her from the clutches of the ruthless mobster.
At the time of Forgotten Women's release, star Rex Bell was just beginning his career. In a few years, he would find success as the star of Westerns such as Fighting Pioneers (1935) and The Idaho Kid (1936). The same year he appeared in Forgotten Women, Bell married 'It Girl' Clara Bow (they remained married until his death in 1962). Actress Beryl Mercer specialized in maternal roles, playing the mothers of the lead characters in both All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) and The Public Enemy (1931). Director Richard Thorpe had an over 40-year career in Hollywood, mostly spent at MGM. His filmography includes entries in the popular Tarzan and Thin Man series, the historical dramas Ivanhoe and The Prisoner of Zenda (both 1952), and the Elvis Presley vehicle Jailhouse Rock (1957).
