In 1950, Percy Faith began an association with Columbia Records that would last for close to three decades. The focus of this CD is the first recordings that he made under his own name for Columbia, predominantly released as singles, in the hopes of breaking into the hit parade. These long unavailable songs add to the body of work of one of America's most successful recording artists. Percy Faith was a product of his times, the optimism of a man-made paradise in the middle of a turbulent world, and an oasis of calm in a metropolitan storm. That is his legacy.

Percy Faith fans everywhere should pick up this cd.These are singles most of which have been unavailable till now.They probebly will have a light string contingment as this was before Faith started doing the heavy lush beautiful music strings but any hard core Faith fan should still get this.I love the great photo of Faith on this cd.I'm hoping Faith's version of Sleigh Ride will be out on future single collections.This is only the first so maybe there will be more.Also Collectibles will soon be reissiuing Percy Faith's I Think I Love You with 7 more bonus singles included.I recommend it too.
