Entertainment Reviews:
Product Description:
Science can be friend or foe in this action-packed triple feature.
DEEP BLUE SEA: In search of a cure for Alzheimer's Disease, a team of scientists experiment with the brains of sharks, making them smarter and faster. When a corporate executive (Samuel L. Jackson) comes to tour the facility the sharks start an uprising that threatens not only the project but the lives of the team. Familiar yet entertaining work by director Harlin.
OUTBREAK: Col. Sam Daniels (Dustin Hoffman), an expert on infectious diseases, is called in to study a deadly outbreak in Zaire. He finds a virus that spreads so quickly it could wipe out an entire nation in just a few weeks. He tracks the virus to the quiet seaside town of Cedar Creek, California. Now, Daniels must find a cure before a panicky U.S. army general decides to kill the town's populace in order to save the world.
SPHERE: A secret government agency investigates what may be an alien spaceship, discovered on the floor of the Pacific Ocean. A team is assembled--including psychologist Norman Goodman (Dustin Hoffman), mathematician Harry Adams (Samuel L. Jackson), physicist Ted Fielding (Liev Schreiber), and biochemist Beth Halperin (Sharon Stone)--to go underwater to examine the mysterious vessel, a huge glowing sphere. As the investigation continues, a series of strange, horrific events leads the team of scientists to doubt each other's sanity and motives. The film is based on the best-selling novel by Michael Crichton.
