...[A] quirkily easygoing comedy....[Cheech Marin] hits a hole-in-one performance... -- 3 out of 4 stars

Rating: 4/5 -- What makes Tin Cup such an unabashed pleasure is Shelton's care in writing and developing interesting characters.

...Amiable and constantly amusing....[Costner does] his most appealing work in years...

Rating: A- -- The climactic game, in which Roy, in a way that defies prediction, attempts to sink the shot of his life, is the most rousing sequence of the year, a celebration of what it really means to win. Full Review

...A stack of rich, raw Texan songs...which cunningly parallel most of the twists of the story...

Amiable and constantly amusing rather than uproarious, this mangy tale of a ne'er-do-well's fitful assault on personal and professional respectability benefits greatly from Kevin Costner's ingratiatingly comic star turn.

It is a charmer from tee-off to final putt. Full Review

Product Description:

A lackadaisical one-time golf pro, now operating a run-down driving range in Texas, gets his competitive juices flowing again when a slick former colleague shows up and asks him to be his--gasp!--caddie. Not only will the washed-up hacker not deign to be a caddie, he falls for and ultimately seduces the pro's beautiful psychologist girlfriend and launches a motivated bid for the U.S. Open. A winning comedy from the creator of "Bull Durham."
