A 'Lost' Durango Kid Title Finally Available! Movie Lover: from HAMPTON BAYS, NY US -- May, 16, 2014

Excellent picture quality on this long lost Charles Starrett/Durango Kid western. Thanks to Sony/Columbia Pictures for making it available. It's especially appreciated due to it being one of Clayton Moore's larger roles while he was on 'vacation' from The Lone Ranger TV series. Moore plays the part of the outlaw 'The Hawk' in the movie title. At 53 minutes length the screenplay isn't as deep in story as one would like, but hey, these were made for Saturday matinees with plenty of action for the audience to enjoy! I deducted the 1/2 star simply due to Smiley Burnette almost ruining the entire show with his usual unfunny, waste of time antics that are given way too much screen time in a film of this length. I have always wondered just how much pull Burnette had with studios that he was cast in so many B Westerns and was embarrassing/boring to watch and listen to. Again though, it's great to finally have this movie available in spite of Burnette.
