"Falcon Crest" following "Dallas" guaranteed staying home on Friday nights! And since the 80's are called 'the Reagan decade' it is appropriate that the FIRST Mrs. Reagan ruled television for the same decade. It was wonderful to see one of our all-time great actresses, Jane Wyman, come out of retirement and become the highest paid dramatic actress on TV, portraying the indomitable Angela Channing as only she could! And this particular season was highlighted by having another legendary lady, Lana Turner, as the platinum blonde wrapped in mink guest star. (The still gorgeous Kim Novak would be a guest star the following season.) The supporting cast was universally good, especially Lorenzo Lamas, David Selby, and Susan Sullivan as Maggie (whose BIG diamond ring brought about her sad demise!) Of all the night-time "soaps" FALCON CREST was the BEST.
