The Life of Christ

This is a low-budget made-for-television series based on the gospels and the first chapter of Acts. The series sometimes tries to resolve discrepancies in the gospels.
Nelson Leigh is criticized by some for his "wooden" portrayal of Jesus. I think he was just playing it safe-any performance depicting Jesus is subject to criticism-in 1952 or today.
One thing I found disconcerting was the use of the generic action-adventure/western television-series music of that period. Okay, that's the reaction of a vanguard baby boomer. Still, I really expect that music to be in an episode of Annie Oakley or Terry and the Pirates-not in a life of Christ.
