Description by OLDIES.com:
Prison movies were popular during the Great Depression, inspired by the success of 'The Big House' (1930) and 'I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang' (1932). Hollywood saw them as a way of making up for the overabundance of gangster pictures. This collection includes five rarely-seen examples of the genre: 'Prison Shadows' (1936), 'Prison Train' (1938), 'Mutiny in the Big House' (1938), 'Prison Nurse' (1938), and 'Prison Break' (1938).
