Richard Roat's book on the history of the Dead End Kids to the Bowery Boys is fascinating! Not only are the photos great, but you learn how each actor was cast and particularly how they got started in show business! The original six members - Leo Gorcey, Huntz Hall, Billy Halop, Gabriel Dell, Bobby Jordan and Bernard Punsley are featured heavily and is good to know that all of them got along very well with each other! The closeness of Leo Gorcey and Huntz Hall is extremely striking and Huntz said that when Bernard Gorcey (Leo's father) died in 1955, Huntz knew that the Bowery Boys series would be over and it was within 3 years! I could go on and on about this marvelous book and I honestly think it would make a perfect Christmas gift for those who love these guys as much as I do!
