Rating: 4/5 -- I Am Another You is a thoughtful meditation on how an individual's inner and outer selves can differ profoundly, and how we can be acquainted with somebody for years but not really know them at all. Full Review

"I Am Another You" is a remarkably sensitive and lovely portrait of an individual, a family, and a life that shines an uncommonly humane light on the issues of mental illness and homelessness. Full Review

Rating: 4/4 -- So absorbing because it plays like a lyrical road odyssey that's also a detective story. Full Review

Rating: B+ -- While I Am Another You is a scrappy production, it roots the narrative in the epic ambitions of its quixotic protagonist, and he fits nicely into a series of familiar archetypes. Full Review

Rating: 2.5/4 -- One unintended bit of entertainment value is seeing the naivete of the Chinese ex-pat director, falling under this pretty boy's spell like everyone else he meets. Full Review

It's a canny bit of human-interest reportage and criticism of the form at once. Full Review

Description by OLDIES.com:

When Chinese filmmaker Nanfu Wang first came to America, Florida seemed like an exotic frontier full of theme parks, prehistoric swamp creatures and sunburned denizens. As she travels wide-eyed from one city to another, she eventually encounters a charismatic young drifter named Dylan. Fascinated by his rejection of society's rules and unsure of his past, Nanfu follows Dylan with her camera on a journey that spans years, takes her across America and explores the meaning of freedom. But as Nanfu delves deeper into Dylan's world, she discovers something that calls her entire worldview into question.
