Admittedly, it doesn't seem like one that Friedkin put his heart and soul into, but it still has some of his touches, and it's too interesting to write off completely. Full Review

Rating: 1/5 -- Friedkin here seems strangely determined to squander his talent; lots of wasted opportunities.

The Guardian is a deeply strange picture with a history as tortured as the perverted limbs of the fabricated tree itself... Full Review
Alexander On Film

Rating: 2/5 -- A dumb horror film that's down there with Deal of the Century as one of Friedkin's worst efforts.
Fantastica Daily

Rating: 1/4 -- Of the many threats to modern man documented in horror films -- the slashers, the haunters, the body snatchers -- the most innocent would seem to be the druids. Full Review

Rating: 2/4 -- As far as flying nannies go, Jenny Seagrove's isn't half as intimidating as Julie Andrews' Mary Poppins. Full Review

Product Description:

A handsome young couple (Brown and Lowell) moves from an apartment in Chicago to a spacious home on the edge of a forest in Los Angeles. Fortunately, for their newborn child, they also find the perfect live-in baby sitter (Seagrove). It all seems like a fairy tale, until it becomes apparent that the attractive English nanny is revealed to have a very strange relationship with a large tree in the forest. It isn't long before ancient supernatural forces turn the couple's dream into a nightmare, and they begin to battle the nanny for the child's soul.
