An excellent film on all fronts. Great script, tremendous acting and a realistic look at mental health and the ramifications for teens.

Sarah's Backstage Pass
Written by Nick Naveda and directed by Thor Freudenthal, it takes some big swings at a big subject and almost - not quite - pulls it off.

It's funny that a film can be both overly facile and clear-eyed at the same time, but Words on Bathroom Walls is just that.

Plummer's genuine, heartfelt performance will likely go a long way in humanizing a diagnosis that is often unfairly stigmatized.

Product Description:
Based on the young adult novel by Julia Walton, this film is about Adam (Charlie Plummer), a teen recently diagnosed with schizophrenia. Unlike others with the same condition, Adam's version has him seeing the personas behind the hallucinatory voices that often reflect this disorder. His mother does everything in her capacity to help Adam cope, even transferring him to another high school. Adam then meets Maya (Taylor Russell), a spunky and spirited new classmate trying to befriend him even if he appears socially awkward at times. Co-starring Andy Garcia and AnnaSophia Robb.
