Product Description:
A&E takes viewers on a trip back in time in this program, visiting the homes of some of the South's richest and most successful cotton magnates. Most of these estates were built in either the late 19th or early 20th century. The Bishop's Place in Galveston was once the home of a Confederate colonel named Walter Gresham. It combined a number of different architectural styles. The Moody Mansion is also located in Galveston. Both of these homes were completed during the 1890s. The latter provided extensive room for entertaining guests in its 800-square-foot dining room. The Swan House in Atlanta, another featured home, was designed by architect Philip Trammell Shutze for Edward Inman in the late '20s.
