The thing that really stands out about Paradise Hills is the flowers. The hairstyles are also gorgeous, as are the dresses and the decor. -- Grade: B-

A disappointingly half-baked riff on The Stepford Wives whose brand of feminism feels more 1970s than 2010s. Full Review

Rating: 3/5 -- Narrated with unusual elegance, with excellent performances from the entire female cast, and gifted with a perverse and twisted flair, this is one of the most unique debuts of Spanish cinema in years. [Full Review in Spanish] Full Review

Rating: 3/4 -- Give it up for "Paradise Hills" for swinging for the fences when it comes to bat-bleep crazy. Full Review

The visuals are certainly trippy enough, but they start to feel like distractions included to keep you from noticing the shallowness of the screenplay and the fairly uninspired direction. Full Review

Product Description:

Generations into the future, a strict binary divides society into the bourgeoisie "superiors" and the "inferiors." Uma (Emma Roberts), a superior teenager, struggles with her family's decision to marry her off to Son (Arnaud Valois), a fellow superior. Instead, she finds herself falling for Markus (Jeremy Irvine), an inferior. When her mother learns of the secret romance, she banishes Uma to Paradise Hills, a finishing school for rebellious young women. Directed by Alice Waddington, co-starring Danielle Macdonald and Awkwafina.
