Being the only level-headed member of her family, Rachel (Hannah Pearl Utt) stays at the apartment she grew up in to work as the stage manager of their little family-owned theater downstairs. One day, after her playwright father Mel (Mandy Patinkin) blows his last chance of becoming successful, she decides that she has had enough. One thing leads to another, and the next thing she knows, her father is gone. As she faces the sudden tragedy, she is confronted by a shocking revelation about her deceased mother.
