Unforgotten: Twenty-Five Years After Willowbrook

In the early 1970s, Geraldo Rivera, then an investigative reporter, uncovered horrifying conditions at Staten Island's Willowbrook State School. The mentally ill children in its keep were found in filth, often left uncared for and unsupervised, and suffering from rampant sexual abuse by the school's staff. UNFORGOTTEN, filmed 25 years after Rivera's initial, harrowing report, revisits a handful of the institute's inhabitants, and examines the effects of the brutal state school on their development as adults.
