Rating: 2/4 -- The acting and scripting are too uneven for either the drama or the comedy to gather much steam. Full Review

...Quietly fascinating....The movie brings into focus how rare religion and spirituality are in American films...

...Passionately filmed... -- 3 out of 4 stars

Rating: 3/4 -- This is not a "religious" film, and the brothers are far from saints. But they know right and wrong, and in their imperfect ways they are struggling to attain a state of grace. Sometimes they slip. Sometimes they don't struggle so hard. Life's like that. Full Review

Rating: 3/4 -- It's the sprightly profane dialogue, the dirty talk of the brothers about love and religion, that gives this otherwise old-fashioned comedy (imitative of Woody Allen) a modern feel and winsome drive, keeping it from getting stale. Full Review

Rating: 2.5/4 -- A good Movie of the Week. Engaging, a bit soapy, but with real circumstance & intelligent/plausable chat. However, tidies up too neatly in the end. Full Review

Straight-talking, romantic yet unsentimental, it's the kind of comedy we wish Woody Allen still made.

Product Description:

Three Irish-Catholic brothers living in Long Island--a "serious" Catholic worried about his relationship with a Jewish woman, a steadfast husband having an affair, and a commitment-phobe being pressured by a girlfriend--talk over their romantic entanglements. The 27-year-old writer-director-producer-star, Ed Burns, won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance for this debut.
