My Brother the Devil is a richly observed film depicting the overly tried and true travails of life on the streets. Best of all, it manages to set itself apart from similarly themed efforts. Full Review

[A] propulsive, stylishly shot drama....El Hosaini mixes non-professionals with trained actors, adding to the authenticity of the milieu.

Rating: 5/5 -- Nuances of faith, politics and sexual identity enrich what initially presents as a classic good son-bad son tale, and although the film's melting-pot patois is occasionally too dense to decipher, we get the gist.

Rating: 4/5 -- The moments of high drama are compelling and emotive, and the moments of raw brutality will cause audible gasps. Full Review

Product Description:

A young boy poses as a street-hardened gangster in order to impress his older brother, putting them both on a treacherous path that could destroy their family in this gritty urban drama. Mo (Fady Elsayed) is an isolated 14-year-old boy who longs to be accepted by his peers. His older brother Rashid (James Floyd) runs with a local gang and earns enough money to support their family. In Mo's eyes, there's nobody cooler than "Rash," and in a desperate bid to prove his manhood, the sensitive younger sibling accepts a dangerous job. Unfortunately, his actions will have unforeseen consequences that could ruin both brothers' lives.
