Entertainment Reviews:
Rating: 4/5 --
It's steady and clear-headed, safe in the knowledge that truth is the ultimate humaniser.

JUST MERCY plugs Michael B. Jordan into the Atticus Finch role. Like Gregory Peck in that immortal performance, Jordan has presence, idealism and righteousness on his side.

[S]tirring....It explores the US legal system from an African-American perspective in an authentic, rousing fashion.

Rating: 3.5/5 --
Based on a true story and a real man in Bryan Stevenson, the film is as powerful as this man's conviction.

Jamie Foxx commands the camera to pay attention. When he is not on screen, director Cretton loses his way. The power of this true story overcomes the lackluster directing and writing. I hope in his next film Cretton finds his directing mojo again.

My Champlain Valley
The chemistry between Jordan and Foxx is by turns brittle, intimate and warm....Individually, they each put in arresting performances.
Empire
The resulting movie is a very well assembled cinematic mediocrity.

Product Description:
With numerous opportunities laid down before him right after he graduated from Harvard Law School, Bryan Stevenson's (Michael B. Jordan) career is shaping up to be an impressive one. He, however, decides to forgo all of those offers in order to go to Alabama and represent those who cannot afford a lawyer and those who are wrongly accused. There, he meets Walter McMillian (Jaime Foxx), a man who has been convicted of murder despite the lack of evidence. To obtain justice, he must now navigate a world that is inherently against people like them. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.
