Entertainment Reviews:
You might also think of it as an especially gory feature-length episode of 'Black Mirror,' with its striking, economical approach to world building and its paranoid interrogations of a technology state run amok — all held together by action sequences executed with a certain nasty, nihilistic virtuosity.
Los Angeles Times
"Upgrade" could have been just a B-picture, albeit an expensively-produced one, but [Leigh] Whannell is as serious about his social commentary as he is about entertaining us.

3 stars out of 4 -- UPGRADE, an irresistibly gory science-fiction melodrama, is B-movie schlock done right.

It's funny, violent and full of ideas.
