Gregg Bissonette - Musical Drumming in Different Styles

Gregg Bissonette has honed his drumming style over a long and successful career, playing with such diverse musicians as Santana, Robert Downey Jr., Don Henley, ELO, Duran Duran, David Lee Roth, and many others. In this four-hour-long instructional, he shares his invaluable experience and knowledge with students, putting to use the wide diversity of music genres he has worked with, in an exploration of the oft-cited phrase "playing for the music." Gregg advises up-and-coming drummers to gain an understanding of as many different styles as possible, by listening to and really experiencing a diversity of music. Including eight tracks from Gregg's solo albums, a wealth of genres are incorporated into the lesson, such as funk, Afro-Cuban, samba, blues shuffle, fusion, small and big band jazz, and rock.
