Maybe it's all a meta joke? Or an ironic bad-taste prank? Let's hope so.

I enjoyed this far more than I thought I would. Very funny and equally frustrating, mostly because of Coogan's character.

Coogan and Rudd get a surprise visitor in Andrew Fleming's gay rom-com, with lightweight results.

Equal parts sweet and tart....It’s a delight while it lasts...
Los Angeles Times
Rating: 2/5 --
Andrew Fleming wrote and directed, like a man who has heard of the gay freedom revolution but is still stuck mentally in the age of queenery and innuendo garnished with lip-service liberalism.

May not be groundbreaking queer cinema but it's a meaningful and genuinely hilarious movie-going experience that caters to a wide audience despite its colourful mentality.

4 stars out of 5 -- Coogan gets all of the fun, flashy stuff to do, but look closely and it’s clear that the RAIN MAN Effect applies: Rudd is every bit as good in the less showy role.

Product Description:
Eccentric, combative gay couple Paul (Paul Rudd) and Erasmus (Steve Coogan) balk when a boy named Bill arrives at their home, claiming to be Erasmus's grandson. With his father (Jake McDorman) in jail, responsibility for Bill falls on the two men, who have no interest in changing their booze-soaked, bohemian lifestyle -- until they begin to grow protective of their young ward and warm to the idea of forming a nontraditional family. Written and directed by Andrew Fleming. Kate Walsh and Alison Pill co-star.
