Cassandra, a mute runaway girl, lives in a cemetery where she is watched over by Jorge, the cemetery caretaker and an illegal alien. Shore is a handsome college drop-out, who almost hits the gothic cemetery waif with his VW bus. Sequences of events result in Jorge and Shore finding the lost Cassandra at a roadside diner trying to protect her from her abusive step-father and enlisting the aid of a feisty but compassionate transvestite waitress named Lola. All paths lead to Yermo.
