He Could Have Sung With The Temptations Music Lover: from Gulfport, FL -- December, 6, 2017

If I were to choose almost any of the tunes from this CD and play it for a friend, those with average knowledge of pop music would think it was the Temptations - not only the voice, but the writing and arrangements. Perhaps that was Chris Bartley's problem in finding his place in the music business - it was already taken by a Motown group selling records by the millions. Chris has a very nice, smooth voice. He could easily have sung with the Tempts. Both his natural and falsetto voice pass the test.

There is one tune that starts off with the first few notes of a very familiar intro bass line and you will immediately think he is about to sing a cover of theirs...but at the last second, the notes change. However, the damage has been done. The song is just an average song is the Temps style. If he could have found his own style, perhaps his luck would have been different.

It certainly won't hurt to add this disc to your collection - or, you could just go back and listen to some music you almost certainly have in your collection already.
