Carne de Presidio

A story of injustice and the fight for freedom, JAIL BIRD begins when an upstanding husband and father named Pablo, attempts to save his victimized neighborhood from her violent husband. After accidentally murdering the husband, Pablo is convicted and sent to prison, leaving his impoverished wife and children to fend for themselves. In order to try to escape, he mistakenly aligns himself with some powerful fellow inmates, part of a drug trafficking ring. Yet, the plan backfires, and poor Pablo finds himself in deeper than he originally thought. A sensitive and riveting film, CARNE DE PRESIDIO is propelled by a strong performance from the famed Mexican actor Pedro Armendariz.
