Universal took a step in the right direction by whittling Problem Child down to just 81 minutes but didn't go far enough. The studio should have excised another 75 minutes and released this unbelievable mess as a short. Full Review

Sound funny? The filmmakers here think so. They've jacked this loud, lame shrieker of a movie up to the highest decibels, both aural and visual, and rammed it in our faces with almost numbing aplomb. Full Review

Rating: 1/4 -- It's misguided. It's not funny. And in its lame efforts to be irreverent and hip, it turns out to be just plain mean. Full Review

The end is refreshingly less sentimental than it seems to be shaping up to be, but the film's ugly moments can't help but leave a bad taste.

Product Description:

Ben and Flo Healy (John Ritter and Amy Yasbeck) adopt seven-year-old terror Junior (Michael Oliver) in this DENNIS THE MENACE-type comedy. Junior turns an ordinary camping trip, an innocent birthday party and even a little league baseball game into comic nightmares. Ben is just positive that all his new son needs is some loving attention. With Gilbert Gottfried and a pre-SEINFELD Michael Richards (Kramer).

Director Dennis Dugan has appeared on such television shows as MASH, HILL STREET BLUES and THE ROCKFORD FILES, in addition to directing Adam Sandler in BIG DADDY (1999). Writers Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski later wrote ED WOOD and THE PEOPLE VS. LARRY FLYNT.
