Entertainment Reviews:
Stealing Home packs a lot of emotional wallops, but more often than not, the punches miss the mark.

Rating: 1/4 --
Stealing Home is a real squirmer, a movie so earnest and sincere and pathetic and dripping with pathos that it cries out to be satirized.

Description by OLDIES.com:
In this sentimental coming-of-age story, professional baseball player Billy Wyatt (Mark Harmon) must come to terms with the suicide of a childhood friend Katie Chandler (Jodie Foster). Through a series of multi-layered flashbacks, the hero looks back on his youth -- an idyllic, upper middle-class existence dominated by his love of baseball and wild-but-wise older girl. Called upon to dispose of Katie's remains after her suicide, Billy reflects on how she helped him realize his dream of being a baseball player.
