Bank teller Barry Webster is convicted of embezzlement and sentenced to seven long years in prison. He leaves behind his beautiful wife Muriel, who promises to wait for him. But after several years, she divorces Barry and marries wealthy businessman William King. Webster vows that, one day, he will punish Muriel and her new husband. At last he is freed, but when King is shot to death, Webster becomes the prime suspect.
