Guardian
Hart himself, played with sober, dignified charisma and a saving flash of wit by Hugh Jackman, is presented onscreen much as he presented himself at the time: as a serious, cerebral politician uncomfortable with the kind of personal display a modern national campaign seems to demand.

3 stars out of 4 -- THE FRONT RUNNER plunges viewers headlong into the bewildering jumble of entitlement, idealism, unintended consequences and still-unresolved issues that transformed Hart from a high-minded statesman to tabloid roadkill with dizzying speed.
Washington Post
4 stars out of 5 -- There’s a thrilling charge to the film-making. Jostling, overlapping dialogue feels lived rather than written.
