Description by OLDIES.com:

Gangster Bugs O'Hern is murdered in prison and Federal agents Alan O'Connor and Bobbie Reynolds are sent to investigate. O'Hern was a member of a gang suspected of knocking over a string of banks and the mob needed to make sure that Bugs wouldn't squeal. Agents Alan and Bobbie conjecture that nightclub owner Joe Karlotti is the syndicate's kingpin and discover that a major heist is being planned. What they don't realize is that Alan's sister is dating the gunman who has been brought to town to spearhead the robbery.

This Grand National production is directed by Louis J. Gasnier, who also helmed the 1936 cult classic, Reefer Madness (originally released as Tell Your Children). Conrad Nagel's long film career began in the silent era (Little Women, 1918), extended to the late 1950s (All That Heaven Allows, 1955) and later into television through the late 60s. A founding member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 1927, Nagel received an honorary Academy Award for his work with the Motion Picture Relief Fund in 1940.

Although Conrad Nagel seems a little too fragile to be a leading man type, he fits in rather well with an on and off performance. All in all, though, this is a pretty good film of its kind - nothing great, but a good quickie watch.
