Rating: 2/4 -- McCarthy's film dips its toes into some stock scare tactics - the whistling tea kettle, the dark hallway, the creepy basement - while struggling to figure out whether it wants its third act to be a boring or bad-ass sort of bonkers-bananas. Full Review

Rating: 3/10 -- The Prodigy tries to use elements of horror classics to make something new but completely misses the mark. It never decides if it wants to be a mystical horror or a realistic horror movie and it fails because of it. Full Review

Rating: C+ -- The Prodigy shows flickers of something better, moments of adrenaline-fueled thrills and unconventional jolts, but ultimately they're lost in an over-familiar plot. Full Review

Rating: 1/5 -- It's an unscary scary movie that quickly abandons the very thing that might have made it interesting... Full Review

Rating: 2/4 -- This could have been a much better movie. Much, much better. Its disastrous third act is only accomplished with good performances. [Full review in Spanish]. Full Review
