Aretha Franklin can rightly be known as one of the Giants of Soul. Born on the 25th March, 1942, Aretha would be known as the Queen of Soul with her powerful vocals and occasional piano work. From her Gospel beginnings in the 1950s through to the successes on Atlantic records, she has charted no less the 88 hit singles and picked up 18 Grammy awards, selling well over 75 million records on the way. She was the first female artist to be inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame and then 2012 saw her inducted into the Gospel Music Hall Of Fame. Unfortunately, Aretha Passed away on 16th August 2018 but she leaves a lifetime of musical success behind and we are all grateful for it. On this album are 36 tracks of her best work, making her musical legacy live on and inspire future generations of Soul singers and fans.
