Rifkin very deeply understands fanboy culture, and there's a moral spine to this Burt Reynolds fanboy's movie.

Rating: 3/5 --
The reason to see The Last Movie Star is its performances from both Burt Reynolds and Ariel Winter. It's a sweet, solid film and a suitable bookend to Reynolds' career as a leading actor.

Product Description:
A former A-list movie star (Burt Reynolds) accepts an invitation to receive a lifetime-achievement award at a film festival in Nashville. But when the event turns out to be a low-rent affair, it sets him on a course of self-reflection as he travels throughout his home state of Tennessee. He is accompanied along the way by a disgruntled, heavily tattooed young woman (Ariel Winter), who reluctantly agrees to be his chauffeur. Chevy Chase, Clark Duke, and Ellar Coltrane co-star. Written and directed by Adam Rifkin.
