Entertainment Reviews:
Rating: 3.5/5 --
Brings back the rebellion and possibilities for rock culture coverage that our digital world has kinda ended. It's like watching your parents talk about their drug & RnR daze.

It was a product of its time, and that time is long gone. Maybe that's a good thing; maybe it isn't.

Film Threat
3.5 stars out of 5 -- Creem was a Motor City creation that gravitated toward a grittier, up-from-the-gutters approach, prizing irreverence in its writing and a reverence for the Stooges, the MC5, and Alice Cooper over the Beatles, the Stones, and Neil Young.

Rating: 3/5 --
Afforded insider access, Creem takes the opportunity to burnish the magazine's contribution to music journalism and rock 'n' roll culture.

Time Out
Rating: 3/4 --
"Creem: America's Only Rock 'n' Roll Magazine" colorfully and convincingly makes the case for the magazine's lasting contributions, a sharp, hip piece of rock history told with the same kind of insolent wit that made Creem what it was.

[The film] will make you nostalgic for an era in which music journalism dared to be irreverent and wasn't constrained by the demands of corporate interests...

Product Description:
The documentary Creem: America's Only Rock 'n' Roll Magazine tells the story of the magazine's inception until its last issue in 1989. Founded by Barry Kramer in 1969, it was able to go from being an underground paper to having nationwide recognition in a few years, giving immense exposure to then up and coming artists such as David Bowie, Lou Reed, Blondie, and Roxy Music. The film showcases the magazine's impact on music and culture through interviews with former staff and artists like Joan Jett, Metallica's Kirk Hammett, and Pearl Jam's Jeff Ament. Directed by Scott Crawford.
