This all-female team adapts Shaw’s text by painting two portraits: one of a forbidden love blooming in a small town distrustful of outsiders after World War II, the other of a lonely young boy becoming fascinated with the transformational potential of nature.

Rating: 3/5 -- Totally has the look and feel like something you would see on the BBC. Slow in pacing, solid acting with an engaging story. A small, well made film. Full Review

Rating: 2/5 -- Tell it to the Bees... is a period drama with no sting. There's no urgency to its message, no passion at its centre.

Rating: 2/5 -- Despite the hefty talent involved, there's a preposterous pass-agg tweeness to this film - a contrived and self-conscious affair adapted from Fiona Shaw's 2009 novel and directed by Annabel Jankel. Full Review

Rating: 2/5 -- It's a sad quirk of timing that a film about romantic outsiders should feel like part of the herd, but a brighter spotlight would not have done it any favours. Full Review
