Description by OLDIES.com:
Actress Helen Holmes was raised in Chicago and made her way to Hollywood by the age of 20. There, while beginning to star in her own action-based series called The Hazards of Helen (1914), she met Australian born director J. P. McGowan, who was under contract with Kalem Studios at the time. After the series, Holmes and McGowan married and founded a production company together. McGowan worked on hundreds of films as an actor and director.
Crossed Signals (1926, B&W, Silent): An organized gang of counterfeiters have flooded the midwest with phony currency. Federal investigator Jack McDermott descends on the small village of Middletown where the criminals are suspected of operating. Helen Wainwright, the local railroad agent, joins forces with McDermott to uncover and stop the secretive criminal empire. Railroad adventure queen, Helen Holmes, is joined by imposing European actor Henry Victor (Freaks, King of the Zombies) in this suspenseful, good-humored action tale.
