This movie has the distinctive Laika style, but the characters are not as ugly as previous Laika characters in ParaNorman, or The Boxtrolls. It is funny and easy-going. There is a moral to the story, which comes to a satisfactory conclusion.

If you have been spoiled by the richness of their earlier films, Missing Link is a bit disappointing, but if you want a beautifully crafted, intelligent adventure for kids, this is still that. It will be interesting to see where Laika goes from here.

Product Description:
This stop-motion film from the animation studio Laika is written and directed by Chris Butler. It follows Pacific Northwest dwelling Mr. Link (Zach Galifianakis), an 8 feet tall yeti-like species who enlists the help of intrepid explorer Sir Lionel Frost (Hugh Jackman) and keen adventurer Adelina Fortnight (Zoe Saldana) in order to find his long-lost ancestors located in Shangri-La. It's an epic journey across difficult terrain for this trio, with Mr. Link proving to be anything but inconspicuous along the way.
