mislaid in a convoy of motionless direction, lacklustre plotting and a dappled, mystifying amalgamation of sequences.

New York Magazine/Vulture
The Pilot's Wife is a good example of a book that screams to be made into a TV movie, and then, once made, screams in horror, or at least in embarrassment, at the result.

Product Description:
Based on the novel by Anita Shreve (THE WEIGHT OF WATER), THE PILOT'S WIFE tells the story of Kathryn Lions (Christine Lahti), a woman with a seemingly perfect life who becomes ensnared in a web or terror when a 747 piloted by her husband (John Heard) explodes in mid-flight. When the flight's black box is recovered, it appears to reveal that her husband was fully responsible for the catastrophe--and that it may have been a terrorist act.
