Entertainment Reviews:
Rating: 3.5/4 --
Keene complicates our feelings about the characters in subtle and useful ways, treating Katla in particular as something more intriguing than a garden-variety evil stepmother, even when she's serving up stew with a cannibalistic secret ingredient.

Product Description:
Two daughters of a witch flee across medieval Iceland when their mother is burned at the stake. The elder daughter casts a spell on a handsome widower, but the ghost of the man's mother attempts to prevent the ill-starred romance. Based on a tale by the Brothers Grimm. Star Bjork had already been child star in her native Iceland, and would go on to worldwide stardom in her band the Sugarcubes, and then as a solo performer.
