Joseph (Devon Sawa), his wife Anne (Camille Sullivan), and their daughter Renée (Summer H. Howell) reside deep in the wilderness as fur trappers. One day, their established workflow is disrupted; they think a rogue wolf has begun destroying their traps. Joseph decides to head out to see what has happened, but he fails to return in time. As time passes, Anne and Renée grow more and more anxious. Their fears escalate when a stranger named Lou (Nick Stahl) shows up at their doorstep, severely wounded.
