Product Description:
Born Bartolomé Maximiliano Moré (August 24, 1919-February 19, 1963), Beny Moré was a Cuban singer, bandleader and songwriter. Due to his fluid tenor voice and his great expressivity, he was known as “El Bárbaro del Ritmo” and “El Sonero Mayor”. Moré was a master of most Cuban popular genres, such as the bolero, son montuno, mambo, and guaracha. He formed and led the Banda Gigante, one of the leading Cuban big bands of the 1950s, until his untimely death due to alcoholism. Moré was posthumously inducted into the International Latin Music Hall of Fame in 1999. Presented here in their entireties are two of Moré's best albums, both recorded in 1958, Pare… que llegó el bárbaro (Discuba LPD-501) and Así es… Beny (Discuba LPD-541), along with one of his biggest hits, “Qué Bueno baila usted”.
