Entertainment Reviews:
Rating: 1/5 --
An emotionally-barren and tediously convoluted film, brimming with risible dialogue and plastic performances.

Rating: 2/5 --
As a piece of narrative, though, it's portentous, sluggish and fatally ungripping.

In more ways than one, OBLIVION offers a vision of a chilling future. What leaps to the eye most impressively is our planet in ruins decades after an alien invasion so destructive that it shattered the moon.

Rating: 3.2/5 --
An eye-popping thriller that actually makes its audience work to piece together its twisty plot.

There's something sturdy and likable about the way [Joseph] Kosinski tells his big story around just a few characters, drawn together across an empty planet.

Product Description:
A solitary drone repairman working on a war-ravaged planet Earth becomes humanity's last hope for survival in this ambitious sci-fi epic from TRON LEGACY director Joseph Kosinski, and RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES producer Peter Chernin. In the distant future, Earth has been decimated by an intergalactic battle against an alien race known as the Scavs. The majority of mankind has been evacuated, leaving just a few solitary drone repairmen remaining on the planet's surface. Their job is simple -- stand guard over the ruins of a once-great empire by patrolling the skies, and ensuring the drones continue to function. Jack Harper (Tom Cruise) is nearing the end of his mission to extract resources essential to the survival of the human race when he witnesses a spacecraft fall from the sky. Upon investigating, Jack discovers the capsule contains a mysterious woman. With mission control watching his every move from high up above the clouds, Jack embarks on a spectacular adventure that will not only challenge everything he's been taught about mankind's most defining battle, but perhaps alter the entire course of human history as well. Olga Kurylenko and Morgan Freeman co-star.
