THE AMAZING ADVENTURE: Ernest Bliss (Cary Grant) has just inherited a large fortune but is miserable, since he did not earn any of the money. In an attempt to break this feeling of boredom, he wages with his friend that he can learn a living for one year without touching any of his inheritance. During his time working, he meets Frances Clayton (Mary Brian), a poor woman who is about to be forced into a marriage of convenience. Bliss must decide if he s to help this girl or maintain his wager.

HIS GIRL FRIDAY: Rosalind Russell plays Hildy Johnson, a star newspaper reporter still working for her ex-husband Walter (Cary Grant) at a major Chicago newspaper. Hildy has told Walter that she is going to marry her insurance salesman fiancé Bruce (Ralph Bellamy). Unfortunately, Walter doesn t want to lose Hildy to Bruce or to lose Hildy as a reporter. Walter wants Hildy to cover a major story about a convicted murderer Earl Williams (John Qualen). Things get complicated when Williams escapes and Hildy and Walter are hiding him in the prison pressroom.

PENNY SERENADE: While packing to leave her husband, a woman plays some records and, upon hearing some songs, reminisces about their life together. Various songs bring back memories of their courtship, their impulsive marriage, her tragic miscarriage and adoption of their child as well as the struggle to keep the child. Throughout these remembrances, the woman begins to ponder her decision about leaving the man she has shared so much with.
