Rating: D+ -- It's a spunky film, but only in frustrating fits, with the majority of the feature overly concerned with its appearance, generating a sliver of irony to go with all the mediocrity. Full Review

The actors are young and beautiful, the soundtrack kicks and the camera zips around with precision. But the script never seems to match the carefully orchestrated mood. Full Review

Syrup does nothing to challenge the stereotype but instead embraces it in an outlandish farce. Full Review

Rating: 1/5 -- The story works hard for winking relevance. But this dark lark is like walking around Times Square looking at the flashy logos and lights and thinking you see the message behind the medium. Full Review

Product Description:

An ambitious young marketing graduate pitches a new product to his powerful boss, and struggles to reconnect with his morality following a bitter betrayal in this satirical comedy based on Max Barry's best-selling book. Scat (Shiloh Fernandez) might be fresh out of marketing school, but he knows that sex sells and he's eager to make his first million. But what will it take for him to convince his boss Six (Amber Heard) that he's on the fast track to success' As Scat makes the pitch that could launch his career, his best pal Sneaky Pete (Kellan Lutz) shows him just how cutthroat the advertising business can be. Scat's only hope for redemption is to prove that substance can triumph over showmanship by breaking down the cynical image he has so carefully built up.
