Ben DiTosti is a highly individualistic if relatively unknown West Coast pianist who has long been admired by the fortunate few who were able to find the two fine jazz albums he recorded in the early 1960's. a student of the great Lennie Tristano, Di Tosti developed a style that bridged be-bop, west coast cool and mainstream jazz. Over the years Di Tosti has been a music educator and still active performer who somehow managed to elude the jazz limelight for decades. Presented here is his classic 1962 debut album that gives ample proof that this is no ordinary pianist, but one with remarkable skills.
