Set in Lódz in the 1960s and ‘70s, Kill It and Leave This Town is a film that showcases director Mariusz Wilczynski's childhood memories in intimately hand-drawn animation. It starts off with Janek (voiced by Maja Ostaszewska) and his father (Andrzej Chyra) going on a trip to the seaside. Upon failure to report their whereabouts to his mother, she loses composure and breaks down. Another episode features a man visiting his ailing mother at the hospital. Instead of being warm and comforting, he is indifferent and emotionally distant.
