...A very cool experience....Literate, well acted and beautifully made...
Variety
Despite the great performances, this thriller ends up becoming a cliché when it fails to propose authentic novelties. [Full Review in Spanish]

Rating: 2/5 --
Apesar do roteiro estúpido e absurdo, o filme tem boa edição, conseguindo criar suspense em algumas seqüências. Incrível que tenha sido dirigido por Benton depois de Kramer Vs. Kramer.

Slavishly imitative of all those B-film noir clichés.

Product Description:
Robert Benton's Hitchcockian mystery-thriller stars Meryl Streep as the enigmatic Brooke Reynolds. Following the murder of her married lover, she visits the office of his psychiatrist, Dr. Sam Rice (Roy Scheider), to leave a wristwatch for the man's wife. Sam is immediately fascinated by the aloof beauty, whom he's come to know through her lover's therapy. When he finds that her father died mysteriously and that she strongly resembles a woman who's been stalking him, the psychiatrist becomes even more obsessed with her. Despite police entreaties to reveal whatever he knows about Brooke's relationship with the victim, Sam refuses to violate his professional ethics by cooperating, although he believes she might be the murderer. Both fearing and desiring Brooke, he's plagued by nightmares that he'll be her next victim. Striking photography by Nestor Almendros and fine performances from the leads and Josef Sommer (Brooke's murdered lover, appearing in flashbacks) complement a baroquely twisted plot in this complex, bone-chilling film.
